Tommy R. & Elli Möbius — two people, one passion, and day after day side by side since 2011.
Tommy learned his craft from the ground up and has spent more than 30 years in professional kitchens. After joining starred dining under Joachim Wissler at Vendôme at Schloss Bensberg, he held a Michelin star without interruption for ten years in Vienna and a further five in Germany. Today he shapes Möbius with a cuisine in which experience, precision and personality come together in a particular way.
Elli has always been a host — with a fine instinct for people and a clear sense of everything that makes an evening succeed. Her path led from studying cultural and social anthropology in Vienna, through a second degree in trade fair, congress and event management in Mannheim, to exactly the role she now shapes at Möbius: understanding people, planning a flow, and bringing encounters into being with poise, structure and attention. She is the quiet precision that, behind the scenes, brings everything together and turns many small details into a single particular whole.
We met during Tommy’s years in Vienna. Even then it was our shared dream to create a home that people come to visit — a place where kitchen and hospitality, pleasure and atmosphere come together in a particular way.
Elli has a big heart — and everyone senses it at once. Her smile and her warm, attentive manner create an atmosphere in which guests feel at home at möbius from the moment they walk in.
She listens, quickly senses what guests need, and watches every detail in service. That is what makes her so special as a host: she makes every guest feel as if they were visiting good friends.
Tommy is a singular cook — passionate, focused, and fully devoted to every single component on the plate. When he does something, he does it with a thousand percent and no compromise — from sourcing the ingredients to the final sauce.
I admire how he can pass his enthusiasm on to others, take them along on a fine dining journey, and surprise them again and again. His energy, his wealth of ideas and his creativity have no limits.
